CYOJ Hit Lab
Facility Rules
Effective September 5, 2026
The Hit Lab is a shared training environment. These rules exist to keep athletes, families, coaches, staff, and equipment safe while helping everyone get the most out of the facility.
1. General Conduct
All members, athletes, parents, guardians, guests, coaches, and visitors are expected to treat the facility, equipment, staff, and other participants with respect.
- Follow staff and coach instructions.
- Use appropriate language and behavior.
- Do not engage in unsafe, reckless, or disruptive activity.
- Respect other athletes' training time and reserved spaces.
- Help maintain a positive youth sports environment.
2. Athlete Safety
Athlete safety takes priority over training volume, speed, convenience, or competition.
- Athletes should remain aware of active hitting, throwing, pitching, and machine areas at all times.
- Do not enter an active cage or training area without permission from the athlete, coach, trainer, or staff member using that space.
- Bats should only be swung inside designated hitting or warm-up areas.
- Throwing should only occur in areas designated or approved for throwing.
- Horseplay around cages, nets, machines, weights, baseballs, softballs, or training equipment is not permitted.
- Injuries, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or facility hazards should be reported to staff immediately.
3. Children and Supervision
CYOJ Hit Lab is an active athletic training facility. Children who are not participating in a supervised class, lesson, team activity, or other staff-approved program must remain appropriately supervised by a responsible adult.
Parents and guardians are responsible for making sure children in their care do not enter active cages, interfere with training, climb on equipment, or create unsafe conditions.
4. Cage and Training Reservations
Members and families should use the applicable Hit Lab reservation process when a reservation is required.
- Arrive on time for scheduled reservations.
- Do not occupy another member's reserved cage or training area.
- Finish training and collect equipment by the end of the reserved period.
- Reservations may not be transferred, resold, or used to provide unauthorized commercial instruction.
- Facility availability may change for team practices, camps, events, maintenance, safety needs, or other scheduled programming.
5. Membership and Facility Access
Member benefits and facility access are intended for the member associated with the active membership record unless a specific program or promotion states otherwise.
Membership cards, member numbers, reservation privileges, access credentials, or other membership benefits should not be transferred to another person.
Certain membership benefits, reservations, or services may require a current active membership or program eligibility.
6. Equipment Use
Hit Lab equipment should be used only for its intended training purpose and according to staff, coach, manufacturer, or facility instructions.
- Do not intentionally misuse or damage equipment.
- Return shared equipment to its designated location after use.
- Do not move large equipment or machines without staff approval.
- Stop using any equipment that appears damaged or unsafe.
- Report equipment problems to Hit Lab staff promptly.
7. Pitching and Training Machines
Pitching machines and other powered training equipment must be operated responsibly and in accordance with facility instructions.
Athletes or family members who have not been instructed on the safe operation of a machine should request assistance from a coach or staff member before using it.
Never enter the ball path, reach into moving equipment, adjust an active machine, or stand in an unsafe position while equipment is operating.
8. HitTrax, Rapsodo, and Training Technology
HitTrax, Rapsodo, displays, computers, sensors, cameras, and other training technology are specialized facility equipment.
- Use technology only as intended.
- Do not disconnect, relocate, strike, climb on, or alter equipment.
- Do not change system settings unless authorized to do so.
- Report technical problems to staff rather than attempting unauthorized repairs.
9. Personal Equipment and Belongings
Athletes and families are responsible for their own bats, gloves, helmets, bags, phones, clothing, and other personal property brought into the facility.
Personal belongings should be kept out of walkways, active cages, machine areas, exits, and other locations where they could create a safety hazard.
10. Cleanliness and Facility Care
- Pick up baseballs, softballs, and training equipment after use.
- Place trash in appropriate receptacles.
- Keep food and drinks away from sensitive technology and equipment.
- Clean up significant spills and notify staff when assistance is needed.
- Do not intentionally mark, damage, or alter walls, turf, nets, fixtures, or equipment.
11. Guests and Visitors
Guests and visitors are welcome when permitted by the applicable program, event, reservation, or facility policy.
A membership does not automatically provide another person with independent member privileges, equipment access, or reservation rights.
12. Coaches and Private Instruction
Organized lessons, paid instruction, team practices, camps, clinics, or other commercial training activity inside the facility must be authorized by CYOJ Hit Lab.
A member reservation may not be used to operate unauthorized paid instruction or other commercial activity.
13. Damage to Facility or Equipment
Normal wear from appropriate athletic use is expected. Intentional, reckless, or clearly improper use that causes damage may result in loss of facility privileges and may require reimbursement for damaged property when appropriate.
14. Suspension of Facility Privileges
CYOJ Hit Lab may restrict or suspend facility privileges when reasonably necessary to address serious safety concerns, repeated rule violations, abusive conduct, intentional property damage, misuse of membership privileges, or other conduct that materially interferes with safe facility operations.
When practical, CYOJ Hit Lab will work with the member or family to resolve concerns before long-term restrictions are imposed.
15. Emergencies
In an emergency, follow staff instructions and contact emergency services when appropriate.
Exits, walkways, emergency equipment, doors, and access routes must remain clear.
16. Changes to Facility Rules
CYOJ Hit Lab may update these rules as facility operations, equipment, programming, safety practices, or member services change.
The effective date shown at the top of this page identifies the current published version.
